It is a mobile application powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) news, which comes as a response to the crisis of trust in the media. It provides the user with a news discovery experience, to whom it gives control over what they want to know. It provides different points of view and context on the selected topics, starting with a morning summary with five key daily events, which the reader can deepen if he/she wishes.
HEALTH & WELL BEING – NUADA
It was created in response to diminished hand strength due to illness or injury, ensuring that the wearer is not reliant on others for personal well-being. It is a first smart support glove, with multiple built-in special sensors and bio-inspired artificial tendons, as well as a bracelet containing most of the electromechanical components and connectivity. It allows support forces (up to 40 kg) when needed.
LEARNING & EDUCATION – APPS FOR GOOD PORTUGAL
It is a project aimed at teaching technology to young people up to the age of 18, showing how it can be applied to solving concrete problems. It improves skills, as well as collaboration and communication skills and aims to change the education system, challenging schools to work differently with students. before. It provides an online platform, where students and teachers have access to creative and inclusive digital courses, using technology to promote new ways of working in the classroom.
SMART SETTLEMENTS & URBANIZATION – CYCLEAI
It is an app created to make cycling greener and safer. Thus, it processes data with the most advanced computer vision and AI algorithms for the design of safety maps in cities, improving urban planning and policies. It integrates a self-learning route planner, based on cyclists’ perception of safety, and foresees the creation of a multiplatform application, suggesting safer routes for micro-mobility users and allowing the user to identify critical points.
ENVIRONMENT & GREEN ENERGY – WATER WISE SYSTEM
It emerged to respond to the sense of urgency in water conservation and its efficient use. It is an intelligent solution designed from scratch for the management and mass processing of complex and heterogeneous events. It bridges the gap between the various realities surrounding all networks in the context of the urban water cycle, analysing water management parameters, energy consumption, meteorology, consumption behaviour and sustainability. It transforms data into knowledge, using analytical and predictive models supported by Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and identifies anomalies in real time.
BUSINESS & COMMERCE – QRPOINT
It is an intelligent system of control and management of working days, which replaces traditional forms of time control (such as the time clock, time sheet or chart clock). It simplifies the relationship between company and employee, allowing information such as hours, geolocation and facial records to be recorded in the cloud in real time via smartphone or computer. It assumes itself as a problem solver and process facilitator in organisations.
INCLUSION & EMPOWERMENT – REFUJOB – REFUGEE EMPLOYMENT PLATFORM
This non-profit platform was launched in April 2022, with the aim of establishing a bridge between refugees from the war in Ukraine looking for jobs in Portugal and national companies with employment opportunities. In the first six two months, it generated over 811 applications and 432 matches. The motto is “Refuse to give up. Get a Job” and is available in Ukrainian and English, giving useful information to refugees and job search and offer features with the completion of a form. The profile of candidates and job opportunities are then analysed and the most suitable options are presented.
CULTURE & TOURISM – X-PLORA
It is a multimedia guide for physical and virtual visits, which relies on immersive technologies and gamification as a way to improve the customer experience and generate alternative revenues for places, cities and brands. It assumes itself as a unique Tour Builder for self-guided visits that gives each person the autonomy to create their own experience, while generating alternative forms of revenue and analysis for each tourist attraction. It introduces a contextualisation system through Extended Reality (AR/VR), Gamification and Blockchain on the same platform, to solve the problem of lack of engagement, sustainability and alternative revenue resources.
